Relationship Therapy

Learning to heal + reconnect

For couples who are tired of having the same fight. Our couples therapy in Cincinnati is for partners who are married, dating, committed, open, or still figuring it out, and who want to understand each other better and get through hard conversations without things blowing up.

Most couples don't come in because of one big problem. They come in because small ones stacked up: the conversation that always turns into an argument, the distance that crept in after a move or a new job, desire that stopped matching, trust that took a hit. Left alone, those patterns harden.

What couples work on here

  • Communication that breaks down when it matters most

  • Recurring conflict that never gets resolved

  • Life transitions such as new jobs, kids, moves, and loss

  • Balancing family, work, and the relationship

  • Differences in desire or intimacy

  • Infidelity and broken trust

  • Deciding what you want your future together to look like

After infidelity or betrayal

Trust can be rebuilt, but not by skipping steps. Therapy gives both partners a structured place to talk about what happened, understand how you got here, and decide together what comes next.

If the infidelity is part of a larger pattern of compulsive sexual behavior, our sex, love, and porn therapy may be the better starting point. If you're the partner who was hurt and need support of your own, individual trauma therapy is available.

What to expect from couples therapy in Cincinnati

The first few sessions are about understanding why you're here now. Your therapist listens to both of you, then works with you to set specific goals for your relationship.

From there, the work runs on knowledge and skill. You'll learn what's actually driving your patterns, then practice new ways of handling them in session, so you leave with tools rather than just insight. Our approach draws on the Gottman Method of couples therapy. The four pillars of wellness keep the whole picture in view, because a relationship doesn't exist apart from the rest of your life.

Is relationship therapy covered by insurance?

No. Insurance plans generally require a diagnosis for one person, and couples work focuses on the relationship rather than an individual condition. Paying privately also keeps your sessions out of insurance records. See our rates page for current fees, and ask about cost during your free consult.
