About Caroline Plasket
Caroline is a student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at NKU. She believes that honest warmth and kindness, guided by love, creates safety in the vulnerable space of a counseling relationship. Her goal is to allow others to feel secure in order to be their genuine self, and believes growth and empowerment happens within that safety.
As the child of a military parent, Caroline spent her life moving. This allowed her to see the world from differing perspectives and experiences. She has spent years playing in the mud with her children and teaching them to read using Waldorf methods. She has spent a lot of time hiking in the woods or under trees reading with her children, allowing them to see the world through the eyes of many. She has experience teaching writing at the university level and her passion for writing comes from its ability to open doors into our own thinking; it is a unique intersection of our lived experience and understanding of the world. She believes that no one knows your story better than you. An intensely huge fan of the Indigo girls, she finds herself repeating their line, “you have to laugh at yourself because you’d cry your eyes out if you didn’t,” understanding the delicate way we all hold our own experiences and emotions. It is okay to laugh at ourselves, provide levity, but crying is necessary and important, and with her, always a safe way of being.
